The objective of this project is to establish a single-frequency GNSS positioning regional ionospheric mitigation service over the eastern Mediterranean based on the more accurate representation of the state of the ionosphere


The first attempt to systematically monitor, assess and partially mitigate the effect of ionospheric variability on single-frequency Galileo-compatible GNSS receivers using ionospheric observations as a service over Cyprus


Now-casting information provided by a dual-frequency GNSS receiver in Cyprus will map the state of the local ionosphere over the island and will be used to improve the NeQuick representation of the region over Cyprus on various time scales


The development of the proposed single-frequency ionospheric mitigation system will initiate a novel service of added value to GNSS applications of various sectors such as social networking, travel, games, entertainment, fitness, sports and healthcare
