In this seminar we will present the outcome of the SERVING project and the regional service for ionospheric positioning error mitigation. This seminar is suitable for engineers, managers, innovators and developers interested in enhancing the position accuracy of their devises and improving their products and services. During the seminar participants will have the opportunity to explore the capabilities of the service in Cyprus and take learn how the service can be also exploited totally or partially in other regions as a means to enhance the accuracy of single-frequency positioning devices.

About Project

The objective of this project is to establish a single-frequency GNSS positioning regional ionospheric mitigation service over the eastern Mediterranean based on the more accurate representation of the state of the ionosphere.

Innovation

The first attempt to systematically monitor, assess and partially mitigate the effect of ionospheric variability on single-frequency Galileo-compatible GNSS receivers using ionospheric observations as a service over Cyprus

Technology

Now-casting information provided by a dual-frequency GNSS receiver in Cyprus will map the state of the local ionosphere over the island and will be used to improve the NeQuick representation of the region over Cyprus on various time scales

Impact

The development of the proposed single-frequency ionospheric mitigation system will initiate a novel service of added value to GNSS applications of various sectors such as social networking, travel, games, entertainment, fitness, sports and healthcare
